How does the media affect women?

"Researchers have found that ongoing exposure to certain ideas can shape and distort our perceptions of reality." When the media constantly portrays airbrushed and flawless images, they create a perception of perfection. This perception causes women physical and mental conditions. Women strive to reach perfection, a perfection that doesn't exist.

What truly defines a woman?

According to the Beginning Dictionary, a woman is "1. an adult female person. When a girl grows up, she becomes a woman; 2. a female follower, servant, or employee." Is that all a woman really is? Our society today has a perception of woman that is completely unrealistic; a lot of it has to do with the huge role the media plays in defining women these days. The media is affecting women physically, emotionally, and socially through the unrealistic portrayal of women and the lack of genuineness.
